A US archaeologic team has been scanning the waters for the remains of a pilot whose P-47 fighter aircraft crashed in 1944. The researchers have demarcated an area off the coast of Corsica where they believe the plane crashed during World War II. Some 27,500 have been located in the Mediterranean Sea, of whom 8,000 are deemed recoverable.
