One person was killed and another seriously injured in a shooting incident in central Vienna on Friday, emergency services said.
The suspected gunman is still on the run, and a manhunt is currently underway.
Local police said in a statement that the shooting took place in the Lugeck area of the city's first district at 1:30 p.m. local time.
Police said in a tweet that a male suspect had fired several shots at two victims, killing one and seriously injuring the other.
The circumstances of the incident were not immediately clear, but police ruled out terrorism in a later update.
"We expected to deal with a specific crime. There is no threat for non-participants," Vienna police said on Twitter.
