Five-day steam locomotive tourism event kicks off in NE China

A five-day international steam locomotive tourism event, the twelfth event of its kind, kicked off in Diaobingshan City, northeast China's Liaoning Province on Thursday, Xinhua reported.
Apart from visiting the steam locomotive museum, the exhibition hall and tourism photography exhibition, visitors can even test drive a steam locomotive themselves! Artists from the Belarus National Song and Dance Ensemble will also perform at the event.
Featuring the event are such attractions as steam locomotive tourism photography, cultural exchange communication, film and television shooting, and tourism industry. By the end of 2018, the spot had received more than 200,000 tourists from home and abroad, according to Xinhua.

A steam locomotive marked as SY1772 and displayed in the museum is the last steam locomotive model produced in China. After more than 30 years, it still operates well, said Yan Shi, a driver who has more than 20 years of experience in driving steam locomotives.
Besides, activities like steam locomotive industrial culture tourism forum and "Belt and Road" WBA Championship will also be held during the five-day event.
