A resurgent China bounced back from Tuesday's five-set defeat against Brazil to overpower a hapless Russia 3-0 in the FIVB Women's Nations League tournament in Jiangmen, south China's Guangdong Province.
The latest encounter on home soil was another opportunity for China's coach Lang Ping to test some less experienced players with her team automatically qualified for the finals as hosts.
After Russia took the first point and made a promising start, the Chinese spikers made a quick comeback and took a 12-8 lead thanks to Yuan Xinyuan's deft touch.
Subsequently, they went on to seal the first set 25-21 thanks to Zhu Ting's spike.
The second set saw a rejuvenated Russia taking a 9-7 lead before Liu Xiaotong went for the kill. Captain Zhu did it again as China claim the frame 25-19.

After Irina Filishtinskaya's block kept Russia's hopes alive, Ksenia Parubets' spike made it 24-22 at China’s set point.
The home side held on to their lead and won the third 25-22 for an emphatic 3-0 victory.
