Herdsmen have begun to transfer livestock to summer pastures in the Ar Horqin Banner of north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The rotation of pastures in the region is part of the efforts to protect the grassland ecosystem. More than 3,000 herdsmen will transfer about 500,000 animals to summer pastures through four main migration routes in four days. Local authorities have set up service stations along the route to offer hot water and food.
