Eight sentenced to prison for child abuse at Ctrip day care center in Shanghai

A court in Shanghai handed down sentences on Tuesday to eight people accused of abusing children in a day care center belonging to China's travel service Ctrip.
The defendants were given jail terms between one year with a one-year reprieve to 18 months by the Changning District People's Court in Shanghai.
In a video widely circulated on China's social media in November last year, children are seen on camera being pushed and forced to swallow wasabi, which ignited outrage among the public.
