Artist Chen Fenghua visited 40 uneducated seniors aged between 70 and 103 across south and southwest China, and invited them to create a painting for the first time in their lives. They were part of a generation that experienced war and poverty – the roughest time in China. They never had a way of recording what they experienced. However, this time, through their paintings, they can share their life stories.
