An old man with Alzheimer's disease ripped 6,000 yuan (875 US dollars) worth of banknotes into pieces in southwest China’s Deyang City. The money was for the elderly man's treatment. His family asked the local bank to exchange the mangled money and both the bank staff and benevolent customers successfully spliced 5,450 yuan (794 US dollars) back together.
