ATP Rogers Cup: Bautista Agut overcomes Monfils 4-6, 7-6, 7-6

We bounce along to tennis and the Rogers Cup in Montreal. Roberto Bautista Agut of Spain would take on Gael Monfils. The Spanish 12th seed had never taken a set against Monfils in previous three meetings, but was hoping to change that and progress to the quarter-finals. It looked like business as usual for Monfils, at the top of your screen in the opener, leading 4-3, he runs around his back hand and is able to whip a cross court forehand winner. He would later take the set 6-4. Bautista Agut would stay competitive, and is able to bring his opponent to the net in the second, with a drop shot that opens up the court, and he is able to slice a winner into the corner for the point. The third would also need an extra session, and once again, the Spaniard is too good for the Frenchman. Monfils finds the net on match point, as Bautista Agut claims his first win over the Monfils in four attempts 4-6, 7-6, 7-6 and is into the quarter-finals.
