New Zealanders were among the first in the world to celebrate the arrival of 2019 with a fireworks display that erupted from Auckland's 328-meter tall Sky Tower. Thousands of revelers on the waterfront watched brightly colored fireworks and laser lighting shoot into the night sky over the city's harbor.
