Following the DPRK's recent threat to launch missiles toward Guam, hundreds of residents on the US island prayed for peace during Sunday mass at various churches. Many urged the leaders of the US and DPRK to work together to resolve differences peacefully.
MARY SANTOS TORRES GUAM RESIDENT "We always depend on our blessed virgin Mary. She's always protecting our island, no matter what. So, as far as the threat, we don't worry about it."
ANGELIENNE POCAIGUE GUAM RESIDENT "I'm kind of worried about it but then I pray. The whole praying thing helps me not worry about it, if that makes sense."
MIKE CRISOSTOMO FATHER AND PASTOR "Obviously what's happening within our region of the world, the threats of the nuclear attack and nuclear missile strike, and so we are here to pray to ward that out, and to be able to pray for the leaders of those countries to be able to remain calm and to think about the people and the lives of the people that we have here."
