China's Hongjiannao Nature Reserve recently welcomed the first group of relict gulls journeying north. As temperatures rise and ice melts at Hongjiannao Lake, the nature reserve in northwest China's Shaanxi Province has seen an increasing number of migratory birds. According to nature reserve staff, the first group of relict gulls arrives at Hongjiannao Lake during March and April.
