The China section of U.S. based daily the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) recently published an article claiming that "the Chinese government exempted Cameroon from debts of 5.2 billion U.S. dollars" while the real figure was only about 78 million U.S. dollars.
Professor He Wenping thinks the WSJ journalist could have made an honest mistake in currency conversion, however, the mistake may hurt China's reputation since it was quoted by CNN and circulated on social networking website Twitter.
