Three Chinese white dolphins appeared in the water off the coast of Xiapu County of southeast China's Fujian Province on Wednesday.

Nicknamed as “ocean pandas”, the Chinese white dolphins are under first-class state protection in China. They mainly inhibit in Southeast Asia and Australia.

These cute dolphins are black at birth and turn grey and pink when they are young. The adult Chinese white dolphins are usually white or pink. They are also known as pink dolphins for their unique color.

The Chinese white dolphins are threatened by both habitat loss and pollution. They only live in good quality water so their presence is a good indication of the state of the environment.
