Chinese President Xi Jinping and Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani exchanged congratulatory messages on Monday to mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
Xi said in the message that bilateral ties have maintained a good momentum of development with the two sides' joint efforts since China and Qatar established diplomatic relations 30 years ago.
The political mutual trust between the two countries has been consolidated, cooperation in various fields has been advanced, and people-to-people exchanges have become frequent, Xi elaborated.
Recalling Tamim's state visit to China in November 2014, Xi said he and Tamim jointly announced the establishment of China-Qatar strategic partnership, opening a new chapter for bilateral relations.

Xi added he is willing to make joint efforts with the Qatari emir to push forward the development of bilateral ties, in a bid to better benefit the two countries and peoples.
Tamim, for his part, said he will work with Xi to support and promote the development of relations between the two countries in various fields and promote the common interests of the two peoples.
Qatar will continue to actively participate in the Belt and Road Initiative to achieve common prosperity, he added.
