China's snowboarder Cai Xuetong won the bronze medal with a 72.66 result in her final run at Winter X Games snowboard superpipe on Saturday in Aspen, Colorado, U.S..

American snowboarder Chloe Kim won her fifth event gold medal with a score of 84.00 during her second run, while Spain's Queralt Castellet won silver with 80.00 points in her first run.

Cai became the first Chinese athlete to win a medal at this event when she earned bronze in the superpipe in 2016, and silver the following year. After falling to the fifth place last season, the 25-year-old was seeking a return to the podium in this edition.

The Harbin native uncorked a 900 for her first trick and followed up with a 540 while completing her six passes with varying degrees of difficulty. That included a pair of 720 to finish, as the Chinese scored 72.66 points and took the bronze medal.
