Spring marks the start of China's tea harvest. From late March to September, farmers across the country would be hard at work picking and harvesting tea leaves. Chorus of Life brings you to Xinyang in central China's Henan Province to see how the famous Xinyang Maojian Tea is picked.
Tea that sprouts in early April is considered to be of the highest quality.
Xinyang has 400 square kilometers of tea farms and 300,000 farmers working in its tea industry.
Newly-picked tea leaves are usually put into bamboo baskets and sold at nearby tea markets.
Xinyang produced over 38,000 tons of tea in 2018. The full industry chain output was one billion U.S. dollars.
