Ahead of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) in September 2018, CGTN produced a special six-episode series entitled "Hi China!". The program invited four guests from Africa to China to take an in-depth look at the vast country. They were divided into two teams and checked out six destinations, where they experienced firsthand some of the country's traditions, vitality, and innovation.
In the last episode, Sibu and Tariro were assigned to do an unboxing test for a new smartphone during their visit to a tech company called Geekpark in Beijing. Did they complete their job? Have their ideas of what it means to be a geek changed? Meanwhile, Asi and Makki joined a Mongolian ethnic group's Ordos wedding performance, a ritual that dates back around 800 years and has evolved into a folk culture that combines etiquette, customs, music, and dances. What role did Asi and Makki play at the wedding? What were the major takeaways and groundbreaking moments from their three trips throughout China? Discover the full story in the video above.
The series aired daily on CGTN from Aug. 27 to Sept. 1 at 15:30-16:00 GMT (23:30-00:00 BJT). You can also watch the full episodes on CGTN's APP and YouTube accounts.
