U.S. woman convicted as teen for killing sex trafficker granted clemency

Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam has granted clemency to Cyntoia Brown, the now 30-year-old woman who was serving a life sentence for killing a sex trafficker. Haslam said he would show mercy to Brown by releasing her on August 7. She will remain on parole for 10 years. Celebrities like Kim Kardashian West and Rihanna, rallied for Brown, sending out a photo and a tweet. Brown said in a statement that she will do everything to justify Haslam's faith in her and thanked her family for their support.
