Relations between China and the Republic of Congo are at the best stage of history, Chinese President Xi Jinping said during a meeting with Republic of Congo President Denis Sassou Nguesso at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Wednesday.
China is willing to further deepen mutual trust, expand high-level exchanges and continue to strengthen mutual support on issues involving core interests and major concerns between the two countries, the Chinese president said.
The two sides will also strengthen coordination and cooperation on important global issues to promote the global governance system and the international order in a more just and rational direction, he added.
Xi reiterated that China firmly adheres to the mutually beneficial cooperation and wants to promote more fruitful results in exchanges and cooperation in various fields.
The presence of so many African leaders at the 2018 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) shows that African countries attach great importance to Africa-China relations, Sassou Nguesso stressed.
The Republic of Congo fully supports the Beijing Declaration and Beijing Action Plan adopted by the summit, he added.
He spoke highly of the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind and the eight major initiatives put forward during the summit.
The relationship between the Republic of Congo and China is unbreakable, he said, noting his willingness to link his national development strategy with the BRI.
