Former vice governor of Anhui sentenced to life imprisonment

Chen Shulong, former vice governor of east China's Anhui Province, was sentenced life imprisonment on Wednesday for bribery, power abuse, insider trading, and disclosing inside information.
Chen has also been fined 170 million yuan, deprived of his political rights for life and all his personal property was confiscated.
Between 1994 and 2016, Chen used his position to seek benefits for others, and in return accepting money and property worth over 275.8 million yuan.
While he served as Party chief of Wuhu City in Anhui Province, Chen illegally bought and sold shares as an insider and gained nearly 137.5 million yuan. Meanwhile, he disclosed insider information to others and helped them obtain over 30 million yuan.
Chen accepted the ruling in court and said he won't appeal.
