In the ongoing Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) League, league-leaders Guangdong Southern Tigers registered a thumping 114-108 victory over Guangsha Lions to extend their winning streak on Tuesday.
Guangdong had traveled to face the Guangsha Lions after the hosts came in as losers of two straight games and three of their last four.
Earlier, the eight-time champions, who were seeking their fourth consecutive win, and 13th in 14 matches, made a promising start. Midway through the first quarter, Zhou Peng set up Xue Jie for one of his four triples.
Early in the second, Guangsha's International MVP, Courtney Fortson, dished to Zhao Yanhao for one of his six long-balls.
Sun Minghui later found Zhao camped out behind the arc, and he connected to tie things at 52.
The 21-year-old kept making it rain as he gave the Lions a 61-58 lead, en route to a season high 29 points.

Last season's league runners-up then went ahead by five after halftime as Ioannis Bourousis dunked on Fortson's long pass.
But Guangdong retook the lead in the fourth before Yi Jianlian drove to the rim for the hoop and the harm, on his way to 22 points for the Southern Tigers.
And Sonny Weems eventually helped the eight-time champions pull away as he finished with 28.
Guangdong's victory moved them two games ahead of Liaoning as the titleholders lost at Jilin, who got a 41 point, 22 rebound, 11 assist triple double from Dominique Jones.
Qingdao edged past Shandong while Jimmer Fredette's 30 points helped Shanghai beat Guangzhou. Abdusalam Abdurixit had 40 in Xinjiang's win and Shenzhen topped Zhejiang. Elsewhere, Aaron Jackson's lay-up with four seconds to go powered Beijing past Fujian.
