China's women's volleyball team will be seeking their eighth title at the Asian Games, with the latest games to be held in Indonesia next month. And right now head coach Lang Ping is putting the Rio Olympics champions through some strenuous training to get ready for the quadrennial event.
Summer training is known for its long duration and difficulty with the players practicing twice a day. In mid-August, Lang will compile a squad list for the Asian Games based on performance in training. With every player wishing to be on the list though, there are only 16 places. A special tool called a Block Board is the focus of yesterday's lesson as the ladies are made to spike over and over. It's hard work, but the players know that it will eventually pay off.
