China will expand cooperation with Kyrgyzstan in all areas including business, investment, energy, local, people-to-people exchanges and connectivity to push bilateral relations to a new height, Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Wednesday.
Wang made the remarks when meeting with Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Erlan Abdyldaev in Beijing, who is in Beijing for Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) foreign ministers' meeting, which was held on Tuesday.
China and Kyrgyzstan celebrated their 25th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic ties last year, and the two countries' strategic partnership has reached a higher and broaden level. China respects Kyrgyzstan's choice on developmental path based on the country's own condition, adding that China is willing to strengthen cooperation with Kyrgyzstan in various areas under the Belt and Road Initiative.
Wang also said China supports Kyrgyzstan to host SCO summit in 2019.
For his part, Abdyldaev said his country hopes to deepen strategic partnership with China, and to expand cooperation in politics, economy, people-to-people exchanges and security, to jointly fight the "three evil forces" of terrorism, separatism and extremism for the mutual benefits of both peoples.
Wang also met with his counterparts from Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan on the sidelines of the SCO foreign ministers' meeting, which focuses on political preparation for the SCO summit to be held in east China's Qingdao City in June.
