Sudan's transitional military council said on Friday that former President Omar al-Bashir won't be handed to the International Criminal Court (ICC) for trial, Xinhua reported.
Sudan's Defense Minister Awad Mohamed Ahmed Ibn Auf announced Thursday that al-Bashir had been arrested and the military council will take over the country for a two-year transitional period.
In a televised statement, the defense minister also announced a state of emergency for three months and a suspension of the constitution.
