Fashion icon Karl Lagerfeld, who dominated high fashion for the past 50 years, died at age 85 on February 19, 2019. Lagerfeld was a German creative director, artist and photographer. He served as the creative director of the French luxury fashion house Chanel since 1983. His indefatigable energy was notable, he was reported to be “working 16 hours a day and delighted to do it”.
