A baby born on a Parisian train on Monday has been offered free travel on the city’s public transport network until he is 25, according to the operator.
The baby and his mother were sent to a hospital near central Paris. “We can confirm that everything is going well,” a spokesperson for French public transport operator Régie Autonome des Transports Parisien (RATP) announced on its Twitter account.
With the help of reportedly 15 people, including passengers, emergency workers and rail staff, the boy was delivered at around 11:40 a.m.
The birth forced the busy RER A rail service, which runs from east to west Paris, to be halted for 45 minutes in both directions.
“Unexpected birth of a baby at Auber station” was displayed on the screen as the reason for the suspension.
The RER A line later issued congratulations on the mother and her newborn while announcing the transport was back to normal.

The story has been amused by social media users across the globe.
“Wow, this is awesome. Mother, why didn’t you have me born in a taxi, airplane or train? I could have gotten free lifts!” said Twitter user @Sneering.
A user of Weibo, the Twitter-like social platform in China, shares the similar idea. “If he was born on a Chinese high-speed rail, will he get free rides until 18?” asked @DestinyXianyu.
There are also netizens thought 25 years are not enough.
“This is awesome……But really? 25 years? Why not for a lifetime!!” commented Twitter user @Yohaha.

This is not the first time for luck babies to get free rides offered by transport operators.
A newborn baby has been awarded free flights for life after he was born last year on a Jet Airways flight traveling from Saudi Arabia to India.
Meanwhile, another tiny tot has been given free tickets for life by Buraq Air after he was born in 2016 on a flight traveling from Libya to Niger.
