Kim Jong Un, top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), sent a congratulatory letter and floral basket to Chinese President Xi Jinping on his birthday, reports KCNA.
Kim pointed out in the letter that Xi's leadership has led the Chinese people to achieve great prosperity, and has opened up a bright prospect of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era.

The DPRK leader spoke highly of the positive contributions that China has made in preserving global peace and security.
Kim also said he appreciated the successive significant meetings with Xi, which helped deepen the special comradely friendship and trust between the two nations.
He vowed to further promote people-to-people exchanges and communication between the two sides, along with the Chinese president.
Kim sincerely wished Xi good health, success in his work and happiness to his family.
