There is still no date set for when Brazil will move its embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, but there is a clear intention to do so, the national security adviser to newly inaugurated President Jair Bolsonaro said said on Thursday.
Speaking in the capital Brasilia, retired Army General Augusto Heleno said there were, however, other considerations to take into account, and as such, Bolsonaro had still not made up his mind.

Closer ties with U.S.

Meanwhile, the country's new President Jair Bolsonaro said Thursday he was open to discussing his country hosting a U.S. military base "in the future," underlining his stated desire for closer ties with America.
"Depending on what might happen in the world, who knows if we might have to talk about that subject in the future," the 63-year-old former paratrooper, who took office this week, told SBT television.

"The physical issue of it might be just symbolic," he added.
He told U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Wednesday that their two countries now "are friends."
