The eighth edition of the Sanya International Bodybuilding & Bikini Contest came to an end on Saturday with 35 successful competitors from the group stages battling it out in the group stages.
This year, more than 600 contestants from 34 countries and regions competed for five titles across a two-day event.
Thirty-five total group winners from both genders competed in the men's bodybuilding, men's physique, men's classic physique, women's bikini, and women's physique.
After the contestants took turns to show off their figures, the winners of different categories and disciplines were announced. In men's bodybuilding, the winner was Lee Seung Chul of South Korea while the men's classic physique overall title went to China's Ping Yunlong.
The men's physique and women's bikini contests were new to this year's contest, with Mr. Olympia, Brandon Hendrickson, as this year's winner. After his triumph, Hendrickson said, “I am so excited to be here and the show was so well arranged. I am just grateful. I love China and I have been to Beijing a lot of times.”
“This is my first visit to Sanya so I thought why not come back as a bodybuilder and Mr. Olympia in Sanya. This is my first pro title here and it's an awesome feeling. I will be back next year,” he added.
