More than 30 homes have been evacuated as a huge moorland fire continued to spread on the outskirts of Manchester, police said on Wednesday. The Army is on standby to help to battle the fire, which started on Sunday and reignited the next day due to high temperatures. Police have declared it a "major incident.”
