China's women's football team members are gearing up for the upcoming FIFA Women's World Cup after arriving in France. After the first day's adjustment, the PRC team officially opened their last stage of training camp.
The Chinese women have been trying hard to acclimatize as early as possible and overcome the jet lag since flying from their country to a time zone with a six-hour time difference. The weather in the French city of Auxerre is very different, and the Chinese girls are quickly adapting to the change of weather.
According to the tour schedule, the PRC team will have a warm-up match with the hosts France on May 31 before the marquee event gets underway formally.
China lost to hosts the USA on penalties in the 1999 World Cup final, and if they are to get anywhere near that achievement this time, PSG's AFC Player of the Year, Wang Shuang, will have to be at the top of her game.
The tournament kicks off in Paris on June 7 when hosts France face South Korea.
Chinese defender Lin Yuping said: “I'm excited that we have arrived in the tournament's host nation, and our coach is giving us even more training than in Beijing, so we will be ready for our first match.”
China will start their campaign against Germany on June 8, before facing South Africa five days later, and closing out Group B by battling Spain on June 17. Ahead of those contests, the Steel Roses will play a friendly with tournament hosts France, in the city of Creteil on Friday.
