A Japanese Wagyu beef festival took place in Tokyo from April 26 to 29. Wagyu beef is one of the most iconic Japanese culinary products for its delicate taste, tender yet juicy texture. The festival attracted master Wagyu chefs from 14 major Wagyu breeding areas in Japan. Up to 1,500 diners were accommodated — each beef dish cost from 1,000 to 5,000 yen (9 to 45 U.S. dollars). The four-day event has attracted over 10,000 gourmets, with delicacies worth 120 million yen (1 million U.S. dollars).
