China supports Laos' course of development

China will continue to land firm support for Laos to develop in a way that suits its current realities, Chinese Vice President Wang Qishan said while meeting Lao Foreign Minister Saleumxay Kommasith on Sunday, calling the two countries "brothers."
The two officials met at Zhongnanhai, the Chinese leadership compound in downtown Beijing.
China looks to further practical cooperation with Laos, Wang added, taking the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative as an example for the two sides to work together. He also hoped to see the two countries learn from each other's governing experiences.
The Lao official vowed to maintain the tradition of frequent high-level visits and to actively make efforts to build a community with a shared future.
