A photographer captures the rare moment of a gecko lizard smiling in Batam, Indonesia.
Gecko lizards are found in warm climates throughout the world. Most species cannot blink, but they manage to keep their eyes clean and moist by constantly licking them. They have a unique eye structure with fixed lens within each iris that enlarges in darkness to let in more light. Therefore their color visions in low light can be 350 times more sensitive than that of a human's.
