Police officers and passersby performed a tense rescue of schoolchildren stranded on a bus in rising water under a railway underpass in Uttar Pradesh, India, on September 6. According to reports, water had accumulated under a badly designed railway underpass at Ram Nagaria village in Rampur district as a result of heavy overnight rain. The bus got stuck after the driver ventured into the water without realizing how deep it was.
