China and Djibouti have signed new agreements under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
The announcement came as Chinese President Xi Jinping met Djibouti President Ismail Omar Guelleh in Beijing on Sunday, ahead of this week's Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).
Xi said that the signing of the documents between the two sides can provide new impetus for cooperation.
On governance and development experience, Xi said China is willing to strengthen exchanges and mutual understanding with Djibouti and deepen humanities cooperation.
Guelleh said his country is a dependable companion of China and is willing to actively participate in the Belt and Road in the process of diversified economic development and creation of a new era of cooperation between the two countries.
