Xi inspects PLA Southern Theater Command, stresses advancing commanding ability

Chinese President Xi Jinping has stressed advancing capacity-building for China's military, the People's Liberation Army (PLA).
Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, made the remarks during his inspection of the Southern Theater Command of the PLA.
President Xi talked to the military personnel and asked them to closely follow changes in situations and focus their efforts on enhancing combat capabilities.
The Chinese president urged the PLA to resolutely safeguard the stability of borders and the safety of people's lives and property.
The president also urged for the sharpening of military real combat training and strengthening command training.
He encouraged commanders at all levels to keep learning and practicing to win combat in modern times.
He also ordered a full implementation of the Party's thought on building a strong army in a new era.
