The summit meeting between the Republic of Korea (ROK) and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) will be held on Friday. It is seen as an important step in resolving Korean Peninsula issues.
The conference room for the summit meeting has been revealed to the public and the symbol of the Korean Peninsula can be seen marked on the top of the chairs arranged on the two sides of the table.
The background painting by a ROK artist depicts the Mount Kumgang region, one of the most famous mountains on the Korean Peninsula.

The leaders will take a group photo in front of the painting, a sign of reconciliation between the two sides.
This will be the third inter-Korean summit and the first time that it has been held on the ROK's territory. The two previous summits were held in Pyongyang in 2000 and 2007 respectively.
