Four tourists, from the United States, Switzerland and the Netherlands, were killed by a hit-and-run driver in Tajikistan on Sunday, and it may have been an act of  terrorism, the Central Asian nation's Interior Minister Ramazon Rakhimzoda said on Monday.
Three other tourists, from Switzerland, the Netherlands and France, were also injured by the car, and one of them also suffered a stab wound.
The tourists were cycling in a rural area in the Danghara district, some 70km (43 miles) southeast of the capital, Dushanbe when the incident happened.
"We are looking into all versions - accident, robbery... including a terrorist act," Ramazon Rakhimzoda told a briefing.
He said police had detained one suspect and killed another one who resisted arrest. Three more remain at large, including the owner of the car.
