Another three prototypes for China's first domestically made large passenger jet, the C919, will undergo maiden flights this year, following the success of a third one in December, according to the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China Ltd (COMAC), the jet maker.
"The 104 prototype test aircraft has entered the final assembly phase, the 105 is undergoing the assembly of major components, and the main parts of 106 are in production as planned," Meng Jianxin, vice director of COMAC's C919 development, told CCTV.
"All prototypes aircraft are expected to take maiden test flights by the end of this year," Meng said.
Three C919s have already completed maiden flights.
To date, the aircraft has received 815 orders from 28 domestic and foreign customers.
