A Shanghai-based esports team is faced with one of the worst losing streak in sports history, as its players lost their 30th match to a London team on Sunday.
Shanghai Dragons, a club focusing on esports game Overwatch, is one of the 12 teams in the official world league of the game.
But the team has never tasted victory after months of matching with its 11 competitors who are based in the US, UK and South Korea.

The club kicked out the team's coach and a player, replacing them with members from South Korea – a country widely considered as the world leader on esports.

First girl in town

Among them is player Kim "Geguri" Seyeon, the first and only female player of the league for now, who joined the team in February.
Geguri is famous among Overwatch players after being pointed out cheating by some professional players in June 2016 while the fact was that she's just so good at the video game.
Some Geguri-accusing players quit professional Overwatch out of shame after she proved herself in a live stream video.
Although Geguri had some great performances with her teammates in Shanghai Dragons, the 18-year-old girl has yet to bring a victory to the desperate team.

Any improvement?

Dragons' losing streak is still ongoing, so the number is still counting.
It can be hard to tell when the streak will come to a stop, as the Overwatch League hasn't released any performance stats about its matches.
The team's official Weibo (a Twitter equivalent in China) handle is still acting normally, with no mention of the losing streak.
Some Chinese Overwatch fans are showing support by trying to prove that the team is getting better day by day.
But their efforts were doubted by other critical comments saying the other teams are getting even stronger.

The game, which can be found on both PC and console, was made Game of the Year at the Game Award 2016.
But it is also faced with troubles from auto-aiming cheats, negative altitude in some players to overly sexual characters.
In China, the game is operated by local Internet giant Netease.
