The ROK and the DPRK over the weekend completed the trial withdrawal of troops and firearms from their 22 front-line guard posts (GPs) along with their heavily fortified border. The two Koreas have also begun destroying 20 out of the 22 GPs - 10 from each side - inside the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) that works as the de facto inter-Korean border. They have agreed to preserve two of the posts in the DMZ.
