More than 2,000 members of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference have arrived in Beijing for the political advisory body’s second session of the 13th National Committee, making the front of the Great Hall of the People a carnival of interviews. Over the past year, they have submitted 5,360 proposals to the Conference in relation to various aspects of the governance of China. Their proposals have significantly informed China’s policymaking, implementation and supervision.
