Aerial footage showed lava from one fissure entering the ocean at Kapoho Bay in Hawaii on Monday. A laze plume blew inland from the ocean entry, sending hydrochloric acid and steam with fine glass particles in the air. The smoke can irritate the skin and eyes and cause difficulties in breathing. As of Monday, lava burned down 117 homes.
