Autumn is harvest time for the Chinese and is also known as the most colorful season. Crops ripen and tree leaves change color and fall.
In Yan'an in China's northwestern Shaanxi Province, a large area of rice fields resembles a huge golden carpet.

Nanniwan village is known across the nation as a role model for poverty reduction by growing rice. The area is covered by ravines and hills, which are not quite suitable for growing wheat.
By planting rice and corns, the area now is not only an area which could compete with the downstream area of the Yangtze River, which is known for the yielding fields and richness, but also has become a tourist destination during the autumn, when rice turns gold.
