Shanghai SIPG on Saturday coasted to a fifth derby win in their past six meetings with Shanghai Shenhua, scoring 2-0 in their Chinese Super League (CSL) clash.
Third-placed SIPG, who boast Brazilians Oscar and Hulk and rising star Wu Lei, were hoping to gain full points and move closer to CSL leaders Beijing Guoan.
SIPG came close to taking the lead just moments from the break when Hulk picked out Wu Lei down the middle, but the Chinese could only drag the ball wide from inside the area.
However, Wu made up for it six minutes after the break – Oscar picked out his teammate, who smashed home a brilliant volley.

SIPG were then awarded a penalty kick after Hulk was fouled following a corner kick. Shenhua midfielder Zhang Lu pleaded his innocence but the decision stood.
Hulk stepped up and scored with a low drive to put the game to bed for SIPG.
SIPG won 2-0 and registered their fifth derby win in the last six meetings.
SIPG continue in the third spot with 33 points, three points adrift of leaders Beijing Guoan, while Shenhua remain in the seventh spot with 23 points 17 matches into the season.
