A two-minute silence was held to mark a week since 50 people were gunned down at two mosques in Christchurch. New Zealand also telecasted the Islamic call to prayer. The country fell silent with public gatherings in Auckland, Wellington and other cities. Thousands of people attended with many non-Muslim women wearing a headscarf to show their solidarity. Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern also joined the mourners.
