As China and Panama strengthen their bilateral ties, some are concerned that the fast-developing relationship between the two countries may challenge other countries' influence in this region. Jiang Shixue, director of Latin American Studies at Shanghai University, said that bilateral cooperation between China and Panama will not hurt any third party. Instead, China's investment in the region will benefit local economic growth. And the South-South cooperation is actually good for everybody.
