Dozens killed after Cyclone Idai tore through Zimbabwe, Mozambique

At least 48 people have died in Mozambique and 39 in Zimbabwe after the tropical storm Idai swept the two Southern African countries, with dozens still missing, media and a local official said on Sunday. 
Cyclone Idai has brought floodwater and destruction to areas of Mozambique and Malawi in Zimbabwe on Friday.
The Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services said in a tweet that the deaths were mainly reported in Chimanimani district in southeastern Zimbabwe.

It has also affected the local facilities, which cut off power and communications.
The local authorities said the rains are expected to continue for several days throughout the weekend.
Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa sent his condolences to the victims affected by Idai, saying rescue operations are underway.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres was saddened by the loss of life caused by tropical cyclone Idai that has affected several countries, his spokesperson said Friday.
